Spring Specials

Spring Activities

Who said there was nothing to do in the Mt Washington Valley  of New Hampshire  in the Spring? April is usually called the "mud season" here, because all the snow is melting with the sun or rain. The mountains still have lots of snow that will soon feed our beautiful waterfalls, that are usually exceptional in May and June. And while touring the waterfalls, take a look at all our historic Covered Bridges along the way. You can also go on a historic tour to learn more about the Valley.

If you love the outdoors, you can go hiking (with snowshoes in the higher elevations), climbing (ice climbing is still possible in some spots), spring skiing (Wildcat Mountain or take the Tuckerman Ravine challenge), kayaking or canoeing on the Saco River, golfing (surrounded by scenic mountain views) and fishing. This is also a great time to observe the wildlife waking up from a long winter.

The sap has come back in the Maple trees and this is the best time to learn about maple sugaring by visiting sugar houses. Summer is right around the corner and the outlet stores of Settlers Green as well as many specialty stores on the main street of North Conway Village offer great tax-free shopping opportunities.  The Home and Garden Showis held in May with lots of exhibitors, with tips and plants for your backyard. Want a scenic train ride? Ride to the sky with your bike? Go to the theatre? We have what you want!
