Introduction to Fly Fishing

The Folks at ClearWater Fly shop would like to invite any and all Women who are interested to attend our Women’s Exclusive Fly fishing day. It will be held on June 3rd and will last the whole day (8hrs weather permitting). This is a private pond so licenses will not be required. This event is geared towards the beginner to novice fly fisher who wants to learn more about this wonderful sport.
Your instructor is none other then the esteemed Kathy Noonan who has been fly fishing for more than 10 years Mainly in New Hampshire, Wyoming and Alaska. She is a licensed Guide and a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting instructor and a graduate of the prestigious Joan Wulf Fly- Casting instructor’s school. WE are more than thrilled by Kathy’s enthusiasm for this event, and with her being a skilled and entertaining casting instructor WE are assured that you will depart from this event with a sense of accomplishment, and the knowledge to ply the rivers and watersheds either by yourself, or with the friends you have made During your class.
* Fly fishing equipment is provided, but we encourage to bring your own if you have it.
Curriculum:
The Class incorporates all Facets of the fishing experience.
Introduction
1. What is the equipment and how does it work for you
2. Basic Knots
3. The Art of Casting. You will learn two techniques and when to incorporate them
A. Forward Cast
B. The Roll Cast
4. Reading Water and how structure and current dictate fly presentation, as well as where fish hold and their behavior because of it.
5. Entomology: Basic understanding of insect behavior
6. Fly fishing etiquette & Conservation.
7. And Last but not Least “how about some fishing thrown in”
We suggest you bring the following items or whatever makes you feel comfortable.
1. Light to warm jacket (preferably something that will keep rain at bay) the days can get cold up here. Also you may want to bring rain gear because unless it is a torrential rainstorm we will be fishing.
2. Sunscreen
3. Sunglasses
4. Hat of some kind
5. Insect repellent
6. Lunch will be provided but you may want to bring along a snack or two.
Lunch will be provided from our friends at the Chefs Market. When you register ahead of time we will then provide you with details about the course as well as a full menu to choose according to your diet.

Sandwich Menu
Tuscan Turkey: All natural roasted Turkey, prosciutto, sun dried tomato, mozzarella cheese, and basil mayonnaise on sourdough bread.
Turkey and Avocado: All natural roasted turkey, fresh avocado, alfalfa sprouts, tomato and basil mayonnaise on Old Village Multi Grain Bread.
Cransandwich: Chicken salad, cran-raisens & crumbled Blue Cheese on sourdough Italian Bread.
Hearthstone Ham: Hearthstone Ham, French Brie cheese with honey-cup mustard on a French roll.
Hummus Wrap: Homemade Hummus (its fantastic!!), provolone cheese, fire roasted peppers, alfalfa sprouts, lettuce, tomato, carrots, and red onions in a flour tortilla wrap.
Avocado Foccacia: Fresh Avocado, tomato, sprouts, cucumbers and basil mayonnaise on homemade foccacia bread.
The Roast Beef: Slow Roasted Black Angus top round beef, lettuce, tomato, and our signature herb garlic spread on marble rye.
Tuna Salad: Dolphin-safe Tuna salad with lettuce and tomato on your choice of sourdough Italian bread.
*All sandwiches are served with chips & a pickle spear.
We will be providing Pasta Salad, Fruit, Ice Tea, Water, and Lemonade for your enjoyment.
